From the question we get that the weight of hydrogen is 2 so the number of moles of hydrogen or n(H2) will be 1. The weight of the methane is 16 and the number of moles of methane or n(CH4) will be 16/16=1.

So, the pressure of the hydrogen will be P(H2) = (1/(1+1))*P which on solving we will get P/2. Also the pressure of the methane  P(CH4) will also be 1/(1+1)P which will be P/2.

So, the total pressure will be P/2 + P/2 which is P.
