A box of mass 2 kg is being pushed horizontally on a rough
surface by a 10 N force for 6 m. Given that the friction
between the box and the surface is 4 N, what is the work
done on the box by the 10 N force?

Given,
Force applied = 10N, force of friction = 4N , Displacement, s = 6m
Resultant force, F = force applied - force of friction ( both forces are opposite in nature that is why it is subtracted)
F = 10N - 4 N = 6 N
Work done , W = Fs = 6N * 6m = 36 J

Answer:
wrong answer W = F. D
therefore W= 10×6
Therefore W= 60 Joule
