volume of cuboid = l*b*h

inner dimensions are 10-1 , 9-1 , 2.5- 0.5
                                =  9 , 8 , 2

Therefore the volume = 9*8*2
                                     = 144 cm³

Answer:

Volume of the metal = 81 cm^3.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Length = 10 cm.

Breadth = 9 cm.

Width = 2.5 cm.

To find:

Volume of the metal ?

Solution:

We know that Volume of the outer metal= l * b * h

=> 10 * 9 * 2.5

=> 225 cm^3.

Given that thickness is 0.5 cm.

=> Length = 10 - (0.5 + 0.5)

                = 9 cm.

=> Breadth = 9 - (0.5 + 0.5)

                  = 8 cm.

=>  Width = 2.5 - (0.5)

               =  2 cm.

So, volume of the inner metal = l * b * h

=> 9 * 8 * 2

=> 144 cm^3.

Now,

Volume of the metal = 225 - 144

=> 81.

Therefore, Volume of the metal = 81 cm^3.
