Answer :-
- The pressure exerted by the box is 3000 Nm² or 3000 Pa.
Explanation ::
To Find :-
- The pressure exerted by a box.
Solution :-
Given that,
- Magnitude of force = 300 N
- Area of contact = 10cm²
First we need to convert 10cm² to m².
=> 10cm² = 0.1m²
According the question,
As we know that,
Pressure = Force ÷ Area of contact,
Therefore,
=> Pressure = 300 ÷ 0.1
=> Pressure = 3000.
- The pressure exerted by the box is 3000 Nm² or 3000 Pa.
More Information
Some more information related to pressure :-
- The S.I. unit of pressure = Pascal ( Pa )
- 1 Pa = 1 Nm·²
- The bigger unit of pressure is kilopascal ( kPa ).
- Pressure depends on two factors:- Magnitude of force and Area of contact.
- Pressure = Force ÷ Area of contact.
