Area = Force / Pressure

Area = 250 N / 25,000 N/m2

Area = 0.01 m2

Given,

The weight of the box is 250 N.

The pressure exerted by the box on the floor is 25000 Pa.

To Find,

The area of the box in contact with the floor.

Solution,

Pressure is the force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed.

The formula for calculating the Pressure exerted by an object is

Pressure = Force/Area

So,

Area = Force/Pressure

Area = 250/25000

Area = 0.01 m²

Hence, the area of the box which is in contact with the floor is 0.01 m².
