Volume of the mental used = 528 cm³

Given:

A box tube is to be constructed out of 1 cm thick mental that has a width of 10 cm,a height of 6 cm,a and a depth of 15 cm.

To find:

Which of the following represents the volume of the mental used.

Formula used:

Volume of cuboid = width × height × depth

Explanation:

Refer below attached figure,

If we find volume of inner cuboid and volume of outer cuboid and subtract it then we can easily find the volume of the mental used.

Volume of inner cuboid = width × height × depth

Volume of inner cuboid = 10 × 6 × 15 = 900 cm³

Noe we can find volume of outer cuboid,

There is a 1cm thickness on both side of the cube

So all dimension should be added 2 cm from its original dimension.

And the above side of cube is open.

That is width = 10+1+1 = 12 cm

          height = 6+1 = 7 cm

          depth = 15 +1+1 = 17 cm

volume of outer cuboid = 12 × 7 × 17

                                       = 1428 cm³

Volume of the mental used = Volume of  outer cuboid - Volume of  inner

                                                                                                    cuboid.

Volume of the mental used = 1428 - 900 = 528 cm³

Volume of the mental used = 528 cm³
