A box with a lid is made of wood which is 3 em thick. Its external length, breadth and height are 56 cm 39 cms and 30 em respectively. Find the capacity of the box. Also find the volume
of wood used to make the box.

Answer:

For external box,

L=56 CM

B=39 CM

H=30 CM

VOLUME =L×B×H=56×39×30=65520 CM³

For internal ,

L=56−6=50 cm

B=39−6=33 cm

H=30−6=24 cm

VOLUME =L×B×H=50×33×24=39600 CM³

WOOD USED =65520−39600=25920 CM³
