Before starting I should tell you this question is a bit tricky

Given:-

  • radius=R
  • time=20 seconds

According to the question it is given that the boy need 20 seconds to rotate one revolution so so the displacement covered buy the boy in 10 seconds it will be 10 seconds/20 second

it will make 10 unit means semi circle

ratio of displacement and distance after 10 seconds will be

displacement : distance

We know displacement= is a vector whose length is the shortest distance from the initial to the final position.

  • For Displacement the shortest distance of the semicircular path is the diameter of the semi circle. Therefore displacement= R + R= 2R
  • FOR Distance the formula is circumference of a semicircle i.e; 1/2 (πR)

Show the ratio of displacement and distance is

2R : 1/2 (πR)
