Answer:

Average Velocity=v1+v2/2

=v1=20km/h

v2=30km/h

Average velocity=20+30/2

=50/2

Average velocity=25km/h

omi53: no wrong' answer is 24 km per hour
yashsri1992: approx hoga
omi53: in book answer is given 24 km per hour
yashsri1992: if you will tell 25 km/h approx then it will also be right

Answer:

average speed of the boy's journey is 24 km/hr.

Explanation:

distance between the school and the house is x km

speed of the boy from house to school = 20 km/hr.

formula, Time taken  = distance/speed

time taken = x/20 hours.

Speed of the boy from school to the house = 30 km/hr

time taken = x/30 hours.

Total time taken = x/20 + x/30

                         = x/12 hours

Also total distance covered by boy = x +x

                                                       = 2 x km.

formula,

Average speed = Total distance/ Total time

                        = 2 x/(x/12)

                        = 24 km/hr.

average speed of the boy's journey is 24 km/hr.
