A boy has $17 in his money-box and wishes to buy a bicycle costing $113. His mother promises to give him $3 for every additional $5 that he saves. Find how much more money the boy must save in order to have enough to buy the bicycle with his mother's contribution.

17+(3+5)X=113

17+8X=113

8X=113-17

8X=96

X=96/8

X=12

∴  12 MONTH TO HAVE ENOUGH TO BUY THE BIKE.

17+8*12=113
