Boy's Age = 4 year
his sister age = 3 times her brother's age = 4x3 = 12
When the boy is 12 years old so that means after 8 years he would be of 12 years old then her sister's age that time will be 12+8 = 20 years old.

Given:

Boy's age=4 years

To find:

The sister's age when the boy is 12 years old

Solution:

The required age of the sister is 20 years.

We can obtain the sister's age by comparing it with her brother's and calculating their current ages.

So, the boy's current age=4 years

The sister's current age=3×boy's age

Using the values,

=3×4

=12 years

Now, the boy will turn 12 after 8 years.

So, the sister's age after 8 years from today=current age+8

=12+8

=20 years

Therefore, the required age of the sister is 20 years.
