A boy is flying a kite with 200 m long string . if the angle of elevation of the kite from a point on the ground 30 degrees what will be the height of the kite from the level ground

if you imagine a straight line from the point of kite in sky to the ground ( let a line OP) you will get a right angled triangle AOP (LET)

now string of kite is 200 m long and theta is 30

we have to find the height OP , the perpendicular side of triangle

now we know sin theta = p/h

hypotenuse is the length of string that is AO

now sin 30 = p/200

sin 30 is 1/2

so

1/2 = h/200

solve to get h = 100 m
