A boy is is boiling water in a beaker in the laboratory .He observed that temperature of water is not rising beyond hundred degree Celsius .Give the reason for his observation.

The boiling point of water is hundred degree Celsius. For the case of water under standard atmospheric sea level conditions water boils at hundred degree Celsius and stops increasing temperature until the'Latent heat of vaporization' is added.In case this is not done, the temperature will remain constant at hundred degree Celsius and will not rise.
So this is the reason why the boy observed that the temperature was not rising above hundred degree Celsius.
