But in a physical perspective, the boy isn't doing any work. As we know, work done comes from the dot product (vector algebra; ignore if not needed now) of Force applied (F) and displacement (s) as F.s . So, if there isn't any displacement, product will be zero, this is because anything multiplied by 0 will end up to be 0. Hence, no work is done.
