average speed = total distance covered/ total time taken

given, total time taken = 45 min = 45 × 60 = 2700 sec

total distance covered = total length of 10 round

= 10 × [20m( back) + 20m(forth)]

= 10 × [40m ]

= 400m

so, average speed = 400/2700 = 4/27 m/s

average velocity = total displacement covered/total time taken

total displacement = 0 × 10 = 0

[ in each and every round he reaches the initial position so, displacement becomes zero in each round . ]

so, average velocity = 0/2700 = 0 m/s
