A boy leaves his house at 9:30 am for him school . the school is 2 km away and class will start at 10 am . if he walks at a speed of 3 km/hr for the 1st km, so for 1st kilometres , at what speed should he walk the second kilometre to just reach in time ?​

total time = 30 min = 0.5 hour

initial speed = 3km/h for first 1 km

Hence time taken = distance/speed = 1/3 h

time left = 0.5 - 1/3 = 0.5/3 h

distance left = 1 km

Hence speed at which he should walk the second km would be 1/(0.5/3) = 6 km/h
