A

Distance=AB+BC=30+40m=70m

Displacement=AC

in triangle ABC-

AC^2=AB^2+BC^2

30^2+40^2

=900+1600

=2500

AC=root2500

=50m

Answer:

A boy moves 30 m towards east and turned left and traveled 40 m

so total distance traveled = 30 + 40 = 70 m

if we look at it then it forms a right angle triangle.

In this way we have to fine the hypotenuse

so          h²=  30² +40²

          ⇒ h² = 900+1600

          ⇒ h= √2500

           ∴ h= 50

so the displacement is 50 m & total distance traveled is 70 m
