A boy named Ravi thinks that agriculture does not require any knowledge. Ravi assumes this
because he has never studied about the importance of agricultural practices like ploughing, sowing,
seasons, irrigation etc. Ravi has a small farm. He decided to grow a few crops in his farm. He faces
many problems all the time. Listed below are some of the problems. Think of the possible reason(s)
for each of these. (You may take help of the book to find the reasons)

Problem 1: Most of the seeds that Ravi sows do not turn into a plant.
Possible Reason 1
Possible Reason 2

Problem 2: Ravi grows wheat in his field throughout the year. He finds that growth of wheat varies
between months. In some of the months, most of the plants die.
Prime Reason

Problem 3: Ravi finds that many of his plants in his farm die out of lack of water but at the same
time some of the plants also die because of overwatering.
Prime Reason

Problem 4: Harvested grains that Ravi stored in a sack used to get infected by fungus.
Prime Reason

Problem 5: Ravi wasted a lot of crop in the year 1. However, he never cared to learn about the
agricultural practices. He used his own ways in year 2. To his surprise the plant growth in the second
Hear was worse than the first year. (There was no change in the weather pattern in the year 2)

Problem 1: most of the seeds ravi sows do not turn into a plant.

possible reason 1: too little or no water, seeds remain as it is.

possible reason 2: too much water, there is more chance for rotting or infection from soil borne fungi.

Problem 2: Ravi finds that many of his plants in his farm die out of lack of water but at the same time some of the plants also die because of overwatering.

prime reason: this is because it is important that plants get the exact amount of water, not too little not too much.

Problem 4: Harvested grains that Ravi stored in a sack used to get infected by fungus.

prime reason: this is because ravi probably didnt let the harvested grains get fully dry before storing them in sacks and fungus grows in damp places and infects the grains as well.

Problem 5: Ravi wasted a lot of crop in the year 1. However, he never cared to learn about the agricultural practices. He used his own ways in year 2. To his surprise the plant growth in the second year was worse than the first year. (There was no change in the weather pattern in the year 2).

prime Reason: This is because he used his own ways when he was supposed to follow the rules of agriculture.also, from knowing the he never cared to learn about the agricultural practices means he is not dedicated to agriculture, which is another reason why he couldnot grow his crops properly.
