Given :

A boy observed the top of an electric pole at an angle of elevation of 30degrees when the observation point is 10 metres away from the foot of the pole

To Find :

draw suitable diagram for the above situation

Solution:

Let the height of the electric pole AB be H

We are given that A boy observed the top of an electric pole at an angle of elevation of 30degrees when the observation point is 10 metres

So, Angle of elevation = 30 degrees

Distance of observer form the base of pole BC = 10 m

So, Base = 10

Perpendicular = H

Tan \theta = \frac{Perpendicular}{base}\\Tan 30^{\circ}=\frac{H}{10}\\\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{H}{10}\\\frac{10}{\sqrt{3}}=H

So, Height of pole is \frac{10}{\sqrt{3}} m
