Given data :

  • A boy of 50 kg mass run up of a flight of 30 steps.
  • Each steps of is of 10 cm height taken time is 5 second.

To find : The power developed by the boy.

Solution :

Now, we need to find first, total height of 30 steps. (according to given),

⟹ Height = 30 * 10 = 300 cm = 3 m

Now,

⟹ Work done = potential energy of body.

⟹ Work done = m * g * h

{where, g is gavitational force = 9.8 m/s²}

⟹ Work done = 50 * 9.8 * 3

⟹ Work done = 490 * 3

⟹ Work done = 1470 joule

Now,

⟹ Power = Work done/time

⟹ Power = 1470/5

⟹ Power = 294 watt

Answer : Hence, the power developed by the boy is 294 watt.
