The lift is moving down at an acceleration less than the gravitational acceleration. Let g be the gravitational acceleration and a the retardation of the lift then the apparent mass is:m(g-a)
That is :30(10-9.8)=30×0.2=6N
The apparent mass is 6÷10=0.6KG.
That is :30(10-9.8)=30×0.2=6N
The apparent mass is 6÷10=0.6KG.
