A boy of mass 50 kg running at 5m/s jumps on to a 20kg trolley travelling in the same direction at 1.5m/s what is the common veloity

Foemula:

m1v1 + m2v2 = (m1 + m2) x v3

We need to find v3

v3 = (m1v1 + m2v2) / (m1 + m2)

= 280 / 70

The final velocity is 4 m/s [E].
