Answer:

  • 150 watts is the required answer.

Explanation:

It is given that

  • Mass of Boy ,m = 50kg
  • Number of stairs he flight up = 120
  • Height of each stair = 25
  • Time taken ,t = 1min40s = 60+40 = 100s
  • Acceleration due to gravity ,g = 10m/s²

Firstly we calculate the displacement covered by boy after climb 120stairs.

→ Displacement = 120×25cm

→ Displacement = 3000cm

→ Displacement = 30m

As we know that work done is calculated by the product of Force and displacement .

Calculating the Force

→ Force = mass × acceleration

→ Force = 50×10

→ Force = 500N

Now, calculating the work done by the boy

→ Work Done = Force × displacement

→ Work done = 500×30

→ Work Done = 15000 J

And , Calculating the Power of the boy

→ Power = Work Done/Time taken

→ Power = 15000/100

→ Power = 150watt

  • Hence, the power of the boy is 150 watts.

Given :-

A Boy of mass 50 kg runs up a flight of 120 stairs , each measuring a height of 25 cm , in One minute and 40 seconds . if g= 10m/s²

To Find :-

Power

Solution :-

We know that

1 min = 60 sec

1 min 40 sec = 1(60) + 40 = 60 + 40 = 100 sec

According to the question

F = ma

Where

f = force

m = mass

a = acceleration

f = 50 × 10

f = 500 N

W = fs

Where

w = work done

f = force

s = distance

Now

Total distance covered = 25 × 120

Total distance covered = 3000 cm

Now

1 m = 100 cm

3000 cm = 3000/100 = 30 m

W = 500 × 30

W = 15000 J

Power = Work done by boy/Time

Power = 15000/100

Power = 150/1

Power = 150 Watt
