Answer :

Mass of boy = 50kg

Velocity of boy = 2m/s

We have to find kinetic energy of boy.

Kinetic energy of body of mass m moving with velocity v is given by

  • KE = 1/2 × mv²

It's a scalar quantity having only magnitude.

SI unit : Joule (J)

➝ KE = 1/2 × mv²

➝ KE = 1/2 × 50 × 2²

KE = 100J

Given ,

Mass (m) = 50 kg

Velocity (v) = 2 m/s

We know that , the kinetic energy of a body is given by

 \boxed{ \sf{Kinetic \:  energy =  \frac{1}{2}  \times m {(v)}^{2}  }}

Thus ,

Kinetic energy = 1/2 × 50 × (2)²

Kinetic energy = 50 × 2

Kinetic energy = 100 J

 \therefore The kinetic energy of a boy is 100 Joule
