After reading 3/8 of the book, the remaining fraction 1 - 3/8 = 5/8
The boy then reads 4/5 of 5/8 = 4/5 x 5/8 = 1/2

Total fraction read = 3/8 + 1/2 = 7/8
The unread fraction = 1 - 7/8 = 1/8 This is equivalent to 30 pages
∴ The book has 30 ÷ 1/8 = 240 pages

Answer:

240

Step-by-step explanation:

Total page = x

1 day = 3/8

=1-3/8

By take LCM

8/8-3/8

=5/8

No. of page read on second day

5/8×4/5

=1/2

Let , one day =3x/8

Another day =1x/2

Total =

3x/8 + x/2

By take LCM

3x+4x/8

=7x/8

Let, total page = x

x-7x/8

By take LCM

8x-7x/8

1x/8=x/8

Total day i.e first and another day = remaining page

x/8=30

x=30×8

x=240
