Fraction of the book he read on first day = 2/9 (Given)

.

Find remaining fraction of the book left to read after first day:

1 - 2/9 = 7/9

.

Find fraction of the book he read on second day:

4/5 x 7/9 = 28/45

.

Find total fraction of the book read of the two days:

2/9 + 28/45 = 38/45

.

.Answer: The boy read 38/45 of the books in the two days

.

Remaining fraction of the book left after two day:

1 - 38/45 = 7/45

.

Find the total number of pages:

7/45 of the book = 49 pages

1/45 of the book = 49 ÷ 7 = 7 pages

45/45 of the book (Whole book) = 7 x 45 = 315 pages

.

Answer: There are 315 pages in the book.
