A boy revolves a stone tied to a string 0.7 m long . Find the distance and displacement covered by the stone in completing two revolutions from starting point .

hello friend..!!

⇒ the total distance covered will be equal to two complete rotation 
so, the distance = 2 x 2 π r that is ( 2 x circumference ) given r = 0.7 m 

⇒ 2 x 2 x 3.14 x 7 = 8.792 m . 

⇒ therefore the distance is equal to 8.792 m . 

⇒ we know that displacement is the shortest distance between starting and the ending point , in the given question the displacement is ZERO because the object return backs to the starting point .

⇒ distance = 8.792 m , displacement = 0 .
