length of track = distance travelled = 600m

Time taken for travel = 2 minutes = 2 X 60 = 120 seconds

they are asking the average speed and velocity:

Therefore the average speed = total distance travelled / total time taken

= 600/120

= 5 m/s (this is the average speed)

so the average velocity = total displacement / total time taken

displacement = shortest distance between the starting and current point.

here the displacement is zero as he reached the same starting point.

so average velocity = 0/120

= 0 m/s (this is the average velocity)
