Step-by-step explanation:

Average speed = (Total distance)/(Total time)

= (5km + 5km)/(0.5hr + 1hr)

= 10km/1.5hr

= 6.67km/hr

As per the details provided in the question.

In the above question, we have the details as follow.

The given data is a boy runs 5km in 30 min.

And boy walks 5 km in 1 hr

We have to find the average speed of the boy.

Here we have to use the formula of speed.

Thus, speed is equal to distance upon a time.

Speed of boy when running is,

s=\frac{d}{t}

here converting minute into an hour

1hour = 60 mint,

so 30 min = 0.5hr

Substituting the value in above equation we get,

S(r) =\frac{5}{0.5} \\S(r)=10\frac{Km}{hr}

Speed of boy when walking is,

S(w)=\frac{5}{1} \\S(w)=5\frac{Km}{hr}

Therefore the average speed will be,

S=\frac{S(r)+S(w)}{2}

S=\frac{10+5}{2}\\S=\frac{15}{2}\\S=7.5\frac{Km}{hr}

Hence the average speed of a boy is 7.5km/hr.
