Time taken by sound waves to reach the bottom of the well = 0.4/2 = 0.2 s

TO FIND :

The depth of the water level in the well = ?

SOLUTION :

Velocity = Distance / Time

Distance = Velocity * Time

Distance = 340 * 0.2

Distance = 68 m

Therefore the depth of the water level in the Well is 68m
