A boy standing at a point O find his kite flying at a point P with distance OP = 25m it is at a height of 5m from the ground when the thread is extended by 10m from P it reaches a point Q what will be the height QN of the kite from the ground? (Use trigonometric ratios)

Solution:

Drawn the diagram of the Statement given in the Question:

In ΔO MP and Δ O N Q

∠O  is common.

∠O MP = ∠ ON Q= Each being 90°

ΔO MP ~ Δ O N Q→→→→ [AA Similarity]

As when triangles are similar , their Sides are proportional.

\frac{OP}{OQ}=\frac{PM}{QN} \\\\ \frac{25}{35}=\frac{5}{QN}\\\\ QN=\frac{175}{25}\\\\ QN= 7 Meter

QN/PM=QO/PO

h/5=35/25

h=5×35/25

h=7
