when a boy through a ball upward the gravity act on ball. the gravity pull that object towards itself.

when a boy apply the energy to throw the ball upward at that time gravitational force also applied by earth on ball.

so the gravitational force is greater than applied energy in ball by a boy...

that's why the ball comes down after some time

if any thing goes upwards from the earth surface then the certain amount of gravitational force acting on it.

when a boy through the ball upward then the kinetic energy is applied on the ball and it goes upwards from the earth surface at that same time the earth's gravitational force is acting on the ball. that's why after some time the ball comes back on the earth.
