Given :-

  • Distance covered = 120km
  • Time = 4 hours

Aim :-

  • To find speed in m/s

Answer :-

CONVERSION :

We know that,

{\boxed{\begin{array}{cc}\sf \rightarrow 1000m = 1km \\\sf \rightarrow ?m = 120km  \\\sf \rightarrow 120000m = 120km  \end{array}}}

{\boxed{\begin{array}{cc}\sf \rightarrow 3600\:seconds = 1\:hour \\\sf \rightarrow ?s = 4\:hours  \\\sf \rightarrow 14400\:seconds = 4\:hours  \end{array}}}

FORMULA :

To find the speed, the following formula must be used.

\longrightarrow \sf Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}

Substituting the values,

\implies \sf Speed = \dfrac{120000}{14400}

\implies \sf Speed = \dfrac{1200\not0\not0}{144\not0\not0}

Reducing to the lowest terms,

\implies \sf Speed = \dfrac{25}{3}

\longrightarrow \sf Therefore,\: Speed\: in\: m/s\: is\: \dfrac{25}{3}m/s

Some more formulas :-

\to \sf Distance = \dfrac{Speed}{Time}

\to \sf Time = \dfrac{Distance}{Speed}
