He travelled 3km North and 4km East, Then ,
(1) Total Distance traveled = 3+4 = 7km,
(2)Minimum Distance or Displacement = Join the starting point and ending point you will get a traingle of Right angled, Calculate Hypotenuse, which is the shortest distance,
=> Root of (3^2+4^2) = 5
=> Shortest Distance or Minimum Distance = 5km,
(3) Direction of Displacement To go to Final point is North East,
Direction of Displacement to go to Initial Point is South West !
Hope you understand,
