Because destination is same. Boy comes to home from school = 1 km. Total = 2km but since destination did not change and he returns to starting point , therefore displacement is zero.

Answer:

displacement= 0 as he reaches back to his initial position

while the distance=2 multiplied by the distance from home to school

Explanation:

displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and final position

so, as he comes back to his initial position, his displacement=0

while he traveled some distance while going from his house to his school and coming back.

so, the distance is more than the displacement as some distance is>displacement over here.

Hope this answer helps.
