Answer:

First we have to change 20 min into seconds,i.e.

20 \times 60

1200 seconds

Now we have to change 0.5km in metres,i.e.

0.5 \times 1000

500m

also 25 minutes into seconds =1500 seconds

now, Average speed is

Total distance travelled/total time taken

so,

500 + 500 \div 1500 + 1200

0.3m/s

Answer:

Distance from home to post office= 0.5 km=500 m

Time taken to reach a post office from home= 20minutes

                                                                      = 20x60 seconds= 1200 sec

Time taken to reach  home from post office= 25 minutes= 25x60 seconds=1500 seconds

Average speed= Total distance travelled/ Total time taken

                         = 500+500/ 1200+1500 m/s= 1000/2700 m/s= 10/27 m/s= 0.3 m/s
