distance of school=6 km

speed while going to the school=2.5 km/h

∴t₁=6/2.5 hrs

now, distance travelled while coming back from school=6 km

speed=4 km/hr

now, t₂=6/4

we know that average speed = total distance travelled/total time taken

∴ total distance = 6+6=12

total time= 6/2.5+6/4=3.9 hr

now, average speed=                    12/3.9=40/13

∴correct answer is 40/13
