A boy who asked to find 3×1/2% of a sum of
money misread the question and found 5×1/2%
of it. His answer was Rs220, what
would have been the correct answer ?

Original sum is x * 5.5/100 = 220

So x = 22,000/5.5 = 4,000

So the correct answer is 4,000 * 3.5 / 100 = 140

Let the number be x

Therefore 5×1/2of x=220

11%×100×x=220

11/2×100×x=220

X=(220×2)/11=40%=40×100=4000

Now,

3×1/2of4000

7/2%×4000=7/2×4000/100=7×20= 140ans
