Common velocity = (50×5 + 20×1.5)÷( 50+20)
= 4 m/s

Googol: i have written it in equational format there
Googol: i cant edit it i dont know why?
Googol: so how to post it again?
shankhaneel007: note down to your exercise book, and post it.

Use momentum conservation.
when boy gets on trolly then this becomes one single system of mass as sum of boy and trolly.
get initial momentum and final momentum and then equalise it.
