total runs scored by the boy in 7 innings = 35×7 =245 runs.

when
he scores 27 runs in the next innings then total runs will be 245+27=272

now new average will be
272÷8=34 runs.

now
to increase his average to 36 runs he should  to score 43 runs in the 8th innings
36×8=288-245
            =43 runs

Batting average for 7 innings = 35

So, the total runs scored in 7 innings = 7 * 35 = 245

He scored 27 runs in the 8th innings

Total runs scored in 8 innings = 245 + 27 = 272

Average score for 8 innings = 272/8 = 34

If he wants to increase his average to 36 in 8 innings....

Total runs scored = 8 * 36 = 288

Total runs scored in 7 innings = 7 * 35 = 245

No. of runs needs to be scored in 8th inning
                                            to get average 36 is = 288 - 245 = 43
