Given:

✰ Edge of a length of a brick of cubical shape = 45 cm = 0.45 m

✰ Length of a room = 4.5 m

✰ Breadth of a room = 2.7 m

✰ Height of a room = 1.8 m

To find:

✠ How many such bricks can fit in a room?

Solution:

Let's understand the concept first! first we will find the volume of a break of cubical shape by using the formula of cube, then we will find the volume of a room, which is a cuboid in shape by using the formula to calculate the volume of a cuboid. After that we will divide the volume of cuboid by the volume of the cube to get the number of bricks which can fit in a room. [ Make sure the quantity is used for the calculations should either be in m or cm ]

Let's find out...!

Volume of a cube = ( its edge )³

Putting the values in the formula, we have:

➛ Volume of a cube = ( 0.45 )³

➛ Volume of a cube = 0.45 × 0.45 × 0.45

➛ Volume of a cube = 0.2025 × 0.45

➛ Volume of a cube = 0.091125 m³

Volume of a cuboid = length × breadth × height

➛ Volume of a cuboid = 4.5 × 2.7 × 1.8

➛ Volume of a cuboid = 12.15 × 1.8

➛ Volume of a cuboid = 21.87 m²

Now,

➤ The number of bricks which can fit in a room = Volume of a cuboid/Volume of a cube

➤ The number of bricks which can fit in a room = 21.87/0.091125

➤ The number of bricks which can fit in a room = (2187 × 1000000)/(91125 × 100)

➤ The number of bricks which can fit in a room = (2187 × 10000)/91125

➤ The number of bricks which can fit in a room = 21870000/91125

➤ The number of bricks which can fit in a room = 240

240 bricks can fit in a room.

GIVEN:

Edge of the Cube = 45cm / 0.45 m

Length of the Room = 4.5 m

Breadth of the Room = 2.7 m

Height of the Room = 1.8 m

TO FIND NO. OF BOXES REQUIRED TO FILL THE ROOM:

NO OF BOXES =

 \frac{ area \: of \: room}{  area \: of \: one \: brick \: }  \\

AREA OF ROOM = Length×Breadth×Height

= 4.5m×2.7m×1.8m

 {21.87}^{2}

AREA OF ONE BRICK =

 {s}^{3}

=> 0.45 × 0.45 × 0.45

=> 0.91225 m^2

\frac{ area \: of \: room}{  area \: of \: one \: brick \: }  \\

 \frac{21.87}{0.091125}

 \frac{21.87 \times 100}{0.091125 \times 100}

 \frac{2187}{9.1125}

ANSWER = 240 BOXES

=> 240 boxes can be fitted in the given room
