The number of bricks required = 25000

Given :

  • A brick measures 20cm × 10cm × 3.5cm

  • A Wall of dimensions 25m × 2m × 0.35m

To find :

The number of bricks required

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Calculate volume of the wall and a brick

The Wall is with dimensions 25m × 2m × 0.35m

Volume of the wall

= 25m × 2m × 0.35m

= 2500 cm × 200 cm × 35 cm

= 17,500,000 cm³

A brick measures 20cm × 10cm × 3.5cm

Volume of a brick

= 20cm × 10cm × 3.5cm

= 700 cm³

Step 2 of 2 :

Calculate number of bricks required

The number of bricks required

\displaystyle \sf   =  \frac{Volume \:  of \:  the  \: wall }{Volume \:  of \: a \: brick}

\displaystyle \sf   = \frac{17,500,000}{700}

= 25000
