Given:-

  • Mass of Bricks (m) = 2.5kg

  • Length of box (l) = 25cm

  • Breadth of box (b) = 10cm

  • Height of box = 5cm

To Find:-

  • Pressure exerted by the brick on the table.

Solution:-

According to Give Question

The acceleration due to gravity is 9.8m/s² which is acting on the box in downward direction

The brick is placed on the table along the surface enclosed by its length and height

Force = mass× acceleration due to gravity

→ F = mg

→ F = 2.5 ×9.8

→ F = 24.5N

Area on which the force acting (According to the Question)

Area = length × height

→ Area = 25×5

→ Area = 125cm²

As we know that

1m² = 100000cm²

∴ 125cm² = 125/100000 = 0.00125m²

Now

We know that

Pressure = Force/Area

Substitute the value we get

→ Pressure = 24.5/0.00125

→ Pressure = 19600Pa

The pressure acting on the box is 19600Pa.
