If we will put it in such a way that it should tuch the surface with side having area 50 cm^2.

Given:

Weight of the brick w= 4 Kgf

The dimension L=20cm = 0.2 m

Breadth B=10 cm= 0.1 m

Height H=5 cm= 0.05 m

To find

Pressure exerted on each side of the brick:

Solution:

The formula of pressure:

P=F/A

In the case of length

P= mg/A

=4×10/0.1×0.2

=2000 Pa

In the case of breadth

P=mg/A

=4×10/0.05×0.1

=8000 Pa

In the case of height

P= mg/A

=4×10/0.05×0.2

=4000 Pa

So, the pressure on each side are 2000,4000,8000 Pa
