 \bf{\underline {Metallurgy}}
It is a branch of Science & Technology which is concerned with the properties of Metals also with their production & purification.
There are mainly 3 Branches
» {\mathcal{\blue {Physical Metallurgy}}} : Deals in development of Metallic alloys which is needed for different types of manufacturing and construction.
» {\mathcal{\blue {Extractive Metallurgy} }} : Practice of removing the valuable metals from the ore & refining the extracted raw raw materials into a more pure form.
» {\mathcal{\blue {Mineral Processing}}} : It is a process of separating commercially valuable minerals from the ores.

\bf{\underline {Minerals}}
Naturally occurring elements and compounds are called Minerals

 \bf{\underline {Ore}}
Minerals when high percentage of metal that can be extracted profitably is known as Ore.

 \bf {\underline {Gangue}}
During extraction of ores some impurities like sand, soil are removed from ores. These impurities are called Gangue.

 \bf{\underline {Matrix}}
Composition of 2 materials in which one is a necessary metal & other may be an organic compound.

 \bf{\underline {Flux}}
A chemical which acts as a cleaning(or purifying) agent. It is used in both extracting & joining metals.

 \bf{\underline {Slag}}
A mixture usually of a metal oxide & silicon dioxide, whereas it can contain metal sulfides & any elemental metal.

Hope it helps you ^_^
