Given : A broker charges brokerage @ 0.75% from the seller and 1.5% from the buyer of a house.

he gets a brokerage of 4050,

To Find:

How much amount of brokerage is received from the buyer

How much amount of brokerage is received from the seller

what is the price of the house sold

Solution:

Let say  price of the house sold  = 10000P

brokerage received from the seller  = (0.75/100) * 10000P = 75P

brokerage received from the  buyer = (1.5/100) * 10000P = 150P

Total Brokerage received = 75P + 150P = 225P

Total Brokerage = 4050

=> 225P = 4050

=> P = 18

brokerage received from the seller  =  75P  = 75 * 18

= 1350

brokerage received from the  buyer = 150P = 150 * 18

= 2700

price of the house sold =  10000P = 10000 * 18

= 180000
