Answer:

Let the present age of the brother be x and the present age of sister be y.

According to question

x=y+3(Since,brother is 3 years elder than sister)

Again,

Age of brother 5 years ago=(x-5)years

=(y+3-5)=y-2

Age of sister 5years ago=y-5

According to ques.

3/5 of (y-2) =3/4 (y-5)

or,3y-6/5=3y-15/4

on Solving this linear equation we get

y=17

x=y+3 (we have considered this)

=17+3=20

Hence,present age of bro.=20years

present age of sis.=17 years
