Acceleration of the bus

 =  \frac{v - u}{t}  \\  =  \frac{ \frac{50}{3} -  \frac{200}{9}  }{5}  \\  =  \frac{ \frac{ - 50}{9} }{5}  \\  =  \frac{ - 50}{9}  \times  \frac{1}{5}  \\  =  \frac{ - 10}{9}  \: m {s}^{ - 2}

The negative sign shows that the body has retarded.

HOPE THIS COULD HELP!!!

Question:

A bus decreases its speed from 80km/h to 60km/h in 5 seconds. Calculate the acceleration of the bus

Solution:

Initial velocity(u)

\sf{\implies{80 km/h}}

\sf{\implies{22.2 m/s}}

Final velocity(v)

\sf{\implies{60 km/h}}

\sf{\implies{16.7 m/s}}

\sf{Time(t)=5 seconds}

\sf{a =  \frac{v - u}{t}}

\sf{a =  \frac{22.7-16.7}{5}}

\sf{a =  \frac{5.5}{5} }

\boxed{\sf{a = 1.1m/s^2}}
