Step-by-step explanation:

1 litre = 1000 milli

143/4 litre = 143/4 ×1000

= 143×250

= 35750 milli

71/2 litres = 71/2×1000

= 71×500

= 35500 milli

if 35500 milli of water is taken away from 35750 milli of water then the volume of water left is 35750-35500= 250 milli

250 milli is 1/4 of a litre

therefore,

1/4 of a litre will remain in the bucket
