Given :  A bucket is 44cm in diameter at the top and 24 cm in diameter at the bottom .

36cm deep.

To Find:   capacity in litres

Solution:

Radius = diameter / 2

Volume of a given frustum = V = (1/3) * π * h * (r₁² + r₂² + (r₁ * r₂))

r₁  = 44/2 = 22 cm

r₂ = 24/2 = 12 cm

h = 36 cm   depth

Volume of bucket =  (1/3) * π * 36 * (22² + 12² + (22 * 12))

=> Volume of bucket =  12 * π *  (892)

=> Volume of bucket =  12 *3.14 *  (892)

=> Volume of bucket =  12 *3.14 *  (892)

=> Volume of bucket =  33,610.56  cm³

1  cm³  =  1 ml

=> capacity  of bucket =   33,610.56 ml

1000 ml = 1litre

=> capacity  of bucket =   33.61056 litre

capacity  of bucket =   33.61 litre
